Having a full signal in this day and age wherever we go should be something we all expect, right? Well, that is not always the case.
A survey conducted in 2017 monitored over 1,400 UK businesses on mobile coverage and performance, 91% of rural businesses and 56% of inner city businesses experience full or partial dead or “not-spots”.
This is evident when looking at buildings and structures, they sometimes can act as a Faraday cage allowing very little Radio Frequency (RF) in and or out. On upper floors of buildings or in sky rise buildings there often tends to be areas where interference, poor call quality and dropped calls occur along with bad wireless data rates. Even if there is mobile coverage, the amount of people using the signal making calls or using mobile data mean signal coverage will decrease.
Due to insufficient funding, the Mobile Network Operators (MNO’s) are unable to provide in-building coverage where there is low signal coverage.
All of the above makes for a compelling case as to why you would need to implement a solution. Not Just for Businesses who it may be critical to use mobiles for calling or data usage to perform day-to-day activities, but also for landlords and developers to seek maximum yield from premium prices.
