“The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 (‘the WEEE Regulations’) require producers of electrical and electronic equipment to finance the takeback and recycling of their products placed on the market after August 13 2005. Products in scope of the WEEE Regulations are labelled with a crossed-out “wheelie-bin” symbol with a black bar underneath as required by the regulations. The symbol indicates that the product was placed on the market after August 13 2005 and that end users should segregate the product from other waste at end-of- life. This symbol means that the product should not be disposed as landfill waste and that it is the manufacturers responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment via an Authorised Treatment Facility. The correct disposal of your end-of-life equipment will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.”
